The History

The Stanley Majorettes were first formed in 1991; since then there has been a lot of changes. These include new trainers, with them came a new way of dancing which has resulted in the troupe learning various styles. Our biggest change came in 1998 when we become known as the Stanley Starlights. At the same time we started entering competitions, which at first we were getting small results, as the judges did not like our different style.

However, after a year of hard work it all paid off when we entered our first big competition. We came third out of a possible eight, which for us was a great feeling knowing that we could take on the best and walk away knowing we were at least judged fairly.

Since then we have come away with first and seconds. Not only can we do well at competitions but also have a very full calendar every year with displays. In addition, we take part in parades all over the country. Our web site is dedicated to everyone at Stanley Starlights, not just the girls + boys but to everyone. Without everybody’s hard work, there would be no Starlights.

What Do We Do?

We are an award winning Majorette troupe, who perform up and down the UK. We have various displays which include various equipment. The equipment we use include: Batons, Flags, Swirlers, poms ,etc.

What About Our Staff?

The staff base is made up of volunteers who give up their spare time every week to help out. Our staff include registered and retired nurses and other healthcare professionals - including a registered councillor (for when Donna winds everyone up). Our trainers have over 40years experience between them, most of them were once Majorettes themselves!

Equal Opportunity

The Stanley Starlights do not discriminate against any individual in respect of disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, race, nationality, colour, age, religion or belief.
one more thing about us is that we are a team and always will be .
